How to Restore Linux Video Drivers on a Toshiba Satellite L305

If you've installed the Linux operating system onto your Toshiba Satellite L305 laptop computer and need to restore your video device drivers, you can use a native Linux utility called the Synaptic Package Manager. This single utility lets you install any piece of software you need, including device drivers, over an Internet connection. You will need to know the name and model number of the video devices that are associated with the drivers you're trying to install. This information is on the devices themselves, in their manuals and on the boxes they came in.

Instructions

1. Click the "System" Linux desktop menu.

2. Click the "Administration" menu.

3. Select the "Synaptic Package Manager" icon. The program window will expand over top of all other windows on your monitor.

4. Type the model number of your video hardware into the Synaptic Package Manager "Search" box.

5. Click the check box next to the listing for the video driver you want to install. This will put a check into the box.

6. Click "OK" to restore the Linux video driver on your computer. Repeat these steps for any other video drivers you want to restore.
