How to Make Wind Twirls Out of Plastic Canvas
You can use your creativity and inexpensive craft supplies to make a plastic canvas wind spinner that will twirl with the breeze. Choose canvas and beads in colors that compliment the color of your home, match your favorite sports team or that make you happy.
Things You'll Need
- 1 plastic canvas
- Scissors
- Ruler
- 1 pipe cleaner
- 21 pony beads
- Fishing line

Cut your plastic canvas into 1/2-by-6-inch strips. Cut 10 plastic canvas strips.

Fold over the top inch of the pipe cleaner to form a loop. Twist the end of the loop around the long part of the pipe cleaner to hold it in place.

Thread a pony bead on the pipe cleaner and slide it down against the looped end. Slide the pipe cleaner through one end of the canvas strip. Slide the canvas strip down against the pony bead. Continue threading beads and canvas strips, alternating the two, until you have all the canvas strips threaded onto the pipe cleaner. End with a bead after the last piece of canvas.

Thread the other end of the first canvas strip onto the pipe cleaner after the last bead. Thread another bead onto the cleaner. Thread the second end of the next canvas strip onto the pipe cleaner followed by another bead. Keeping working your way through the canvas strips and beads until all of them are threading onto the pipe cleaner. Again, end with a bead. Create another loop at the open end of the pipe cleaner tight up against the last bead. Trim any excess pipe cleaner with scissors if necessary.

Arrange all the pieces of plastic canvas around the pipe cleaner to form a spiral shape. Hang the wind spiral from one of the looped ends by fishing line.
