How to Attach Joysticks to Keyboards

Gamers have to have a control system to play their games. Joysticks are one of the methods used to input information crucial to a video game. Many gamers us computers for their system platform necessitating the need to attach a joystick to the computer. Many computers have USB connections located on the keyboard, allowing a direct keyboard to joystick connection.

Things You'll Need

• Joystick with software driver
• Keyboard/Computer with USB connections

Instructions

1. Insert the software driver into the CD or DVD drive. Follow the prompts to install the software onto the computer.

2. Plug the USB connector from the joystick cable into the USB port found along the side of the computer keyboard. Check the keyboard's USB connection to the computer as this completes the circuit of computer-keyboard-joystick.

3. Open your video game on the computer and test the joysticks controls. Find the demo mode for your game and try the joystick.

Tips & Warnings

• If you have bluetooth capabilities on the joystick and keyboard, you can bypass a cable connection and connect using the bluetooth airwaves.
