How to Find a Person in Jail in Tampa, Florida thumbnail
Finding an inmate in Tampa, Florida, is simple.

Technology has made finding people easier than ever--even more so if you are looking for a person incarcerated in Tampa, Florida. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department has created an online database that allows people to inquire about arrests and search for inmates. The searches take only a few minutes and provide information about the arrested person and the charges he faces. All the information is public record, and anyone has the right to see it.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office website. Click the "Inquiries Online" option and select either the "Arrest Inquiry" or "Current Jail Inmates" link. You will be redirected to another page.

    • 2

Type the person's last name, first name in the labeled search box and press "Enter." A list of all arrested people with that name will appear. Narrow the search by adding more information about the inmate in the labeled boxes, such as the person's race, sex and birth date. However, you do not need more than the person's last name to begin your search.

    • 3

Click on the person's booking number to view booking information and a mugshot. The report will contain the last known address of the inmate and whether the inmate is still being held by the jail.
