How to Capture Stills From an iMovie in MacBook

iMovie is the default movie-creating program in all MacBook computers. iMovie allows you to cut and edit video as well as audio. The program also allows you to add custom transitions and text animations to the videos you create. If you are working on a project that requires both video and photos, you can pull still shots from the video and use them as photos.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the iMovie video from which you want to take a still.

    • 2

Push the "Space Bar" on your keyboard to pause the movie when it reaches the point where you want to take a still image.

    • 3

Right-click on the clip. A list of options appears.

    • 4

Choose "Add Still Frame to Project." This is the last option in the list. The image now appears at the end of your playlist, just after the last frame of the movie.

    • 5

Right-click the still image iMovie created and select "Reveal in Finder". The folder in which the still image resides will open. Double-click the image to open it.
