How to Replace a Tire for the Chevy Tahoe
Eventually your Chevy Tahoe's tires will get worn, requiring replacement. You might need to remove a Tahoe's tire or tires for other reasons, such as a common flat tire or blowout, or to put on snow tires for the winter. Knowing how to replace your Tahoe's tires yourself can save you time and money. All you need are a few tools to get the task done. It's a project most people can do in less than an hour.

1
Retrieve your tire tools, a jack and a lug nut wrench, from the cargo area in the back of your Chevy Tahoe. Place them near the tire you will be replacing first.
-
2
Use the lug nut wrench to loosen the lug nuts. Do not remove them completely.

3
Place the jack under the frame of your Tahoe between the front and rear tire nearest whichever tire you are going to replace. Jack up the vehicle enough so the tire is completely off the ground. Remove the lug nuts from the wheel.
-
4
Pull the wheel with the old tire off the hub. At this point you must get the tire to a shop that can pull the tire from the wheel and mount a new one. In the meantime, you'll put the spare tire in place on the hub if you don't already have a replacement wheel and tire ready to go. Whatever is the case, slide the replacement tire and wheel onto the axle. Replace the lug nuts and tighten them hand tight, then tighten them with the wrench, working in a star pattern. This will ensure that the wheel will be evenly straight on the axle when tightened up.
-
5
Release the jack to bring the tire back down to the ground. Finish tightening the lug nuts completely.
-
6
Repeat these steps on the other three tires if necessary.
