How to Choose a Giant Bike Frame
It was noted by Mountain Bike Skills that a bike frame "is the heart and soul of a bicycle." Choosing a frame that suits your needs both in terms of fit, as well as function, is the single most important aspect of having a bike that works well for you. Before getting right down to choosing a specific frame, first ask yourself what type of riding you plan on doing. Choosing the style of bike frame is the first step in eliminating excess options.

1
Research the various models and styles of bike frames that Giant has to offer. Determine the type of riding you will be using the bike for, be it for road racing, touring, or mountain biking.
-
2
Choose a frame based on the material it is made out of, its weight and cost. Giant makes bicycles from aluminum and chrome. Choose aluminum if you are interested in light-weight bike. If you prefer a bike that will hold up to more punishment but weighs more than an aluminum frame, consider chrome. The amount of money you spend can vary from small amounts to very expensive; choose according to your budget.

3
Use a sizing chart to match the frame size to your body. Giant bicycles are unique in that their frames come in four different sizes, all designed with a particular body type and rider size in mind.

4
Choose a slightly longer frame if your intention is to tour, as a longer frame will offer a smooth and stable ride. Choose a slightly shorter frame if you prefer a more agile and responsive bike for riding on single track terrain, for example.
