How to Locate People Using GPS
In these days of handheld wireless technology, it has become much simpler to find people. Using a GPS in a car or a handheld GPS, it is possible to find people quite easily if you know their last location, even if the person simply knows the name of that location. GPS uses satellite technology to show a position in space and can map out a route for you as you move along roads or pathways, showing you the easiest route to the location in question.

Finding People Using a GPS
-
1
Try to Get a Street Address or Cross Streets To locate people using GPS, first find the known location of that person. People who do not have a GPS may not know their exact coordinates. However, the person may post on Foursquare with a location, may know the postal address or may give street directions. If the person knows the location but does not have an address or cross street, look up the address on the Internet or Google Maps in your mobile Internet device.

2
Enter a Street Address, Major Landmark or Cross Streets Enter the location if it is a major landmark, the address if the person has it or enter the street directions or cross streets into the GPS. The GPS will create a route map so that you can move from your location to the place where the person is located. If the other person happens to have a GPS and knows his latitude and longitude, you can also submit that into the GPS.

Follow the route map and arrive at the location. If you are not entirely sure where the person might be, the GPS should take you from within 10 to 30 feet of the location on the map. From there, you will have to look around in that area until you locate the person you are looking for.
