How to Use Tide Bar Soap

You don't use a washing machine with Tide bar soap.

Procter and Gamble produces a popular laundry detergent called "Tide" that is available in many countries around the world. In 2004, Procter and Gamble launched a Tide detergent bar to consumers in India. Unlike Tide powders and liquids, a washing machine is not required when using the bar soap. Using a detergent bar will take a little more effort than tossing clothes in a washer but, with some work, you can get your clothing clean.

Things You'll Need

• Pail
• Laundry brush

Instructions

1. Examine the garment and take note of stains and spots that you may see.

2. Wet your garment in a sink or pail of warm water. Dampen the bar by dipping it in the water.

3. Rub the laundry bar over each stain for ten to thirty seconds. Use a laundry brush to scrub the stains.

4. Let the garment soak in the soapy water for a few minutes before rinsing it clean. Allow the garment to soak overnight if it has tough stains.

5. Remove the garment from the sink or pail. Drain the water. Refill the sink or pail with fresh water and dip the garment in the water to remove the soap residue.

6. Wring out the garment and hang it on a clothesline to dry.

Tips & Warnings

• Store your detergent bar in a plastic storage bag in between uses.
