How to Reset Icon Images on Desktop
Standard Windows 7 desktop icons include "Computer," "Network" and "Recycle Bin." If you have edited these icons or changed the icon properties, you can reset them using the Windows "Restore Default" option in your main personalization settings. This is beneficial if you made an error when changing the icons' properties. This restores the icon's image and resets all properties to the manufacturer's default.
