How to Use Surf Spray Without Getting Frizzy
If you want to wear your hair in loose, beachy waves, consider using a surf spray. Surf spray is a hair product that encourages waves in naturally wavy hair. Actresses Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Jessica Biel have regularly worn their hair in loose beachy waves for red carpet events. Add to this bohemian look by braiding a few face-framing sections of hair. Surf spray encourages waves, but it can also cause hair to frizz. Follow directions below to create casual waves without the frizz. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Squeeze a dime-sized dollop of anti-frizz serum into your palm and work the serum through damp hair. Comb the serum through the bottom half of your hair, but stay away from the root area, where it will make your hair look greasy.
-
2
Mist surf spray from root to tips of damp hair.
-
-
3
Scrunch hair upward to encourage waves. Scrunch hair by cradling large sections of hair in your palms and pushing palm up toward the roots.
-
4
Twirl 2-inch sections of hair around your finger to add definition. Concentrate on twirling a few sections of hair that frame your face.
-
5
Allow hair to air-dry or, if you are in a hurry, blow-dry hair with a diffuser. While hair is drying, continue to scrunch hair and twirl sections of hair.
-
6
Wrap large sections of hair around the barrel of a curling iron to add additional waves. Style just a few sections of hair that frame the face.
-
7
Mist your waves with a flexible hold, anti-frizz hairspray.
-
8
If hair looks frizzy, squeeze a tiny, pea-sized amount of anti-frizz serum onto your palms. Rub your palms together and lightly brush them over your waves. If your hair starts to frizz later in the day after you have left the house, squeeze a tiny amount of hand lotion on your palms. Rub your palms together and then lightly brush them over your waves.
