How to Report Food Stamp Fraud in Indiana

If you receive food stamp benefits in Indiana as a result of falsifying information on your food stamp application, you are guilty of food stamp fraud. It is also fraud to use the food stamps for reasons other than buying food, such as selling the food stamps for cash or drugs. When you know of someone who is committing food stamp fraud in Indiana, you should report the matter to the Department Of Family & Social Services.

Instructions

1. Call the Indiana Department Of Family And Social Services fraud hotline to report fraud at 800-446-1993. Include all of the fraud details, including names, dates and locations. To report fraud by employees, rather than recipients, call 317-234-1604.

2. Submit a written report of the fraud. Be sure to include all of the details in your report. Provide your contact information just in case the department needs to reach you to obtain additional information.
