How to Prolong the Life of Your Water Skis

Water skis aren't cheap - check them carefully after each use and store them properly to preserve their life.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Check all screws on your skis before each use.

  2. Step 2

    Tighten any loose screws with a screwdriver.

  3. Step 3

    Check bindings for any tears before each use.

  4. Step 4

    Respect your skis. Avoid tossing them down on rocks or pebbles after use. Inspect your skis after each day of use. Look for any chips, slivers or cracks.

  5. Step 5

    Repair any chips or gouges by filling with epoxy resin and then sanding smooth.

  6. Step 6

    Store skis out of the sun and rain.

Tips & Warnings
  • Skis are relatively durable these days and need very little maintenance as long as they are properly stored and cared for.
  • Don't ski with damaged skis or you may end up with a damaged body.
