Toys for Tots began in 1947 when Maj. Bill Hendricks of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve collected and distributed more than 5,000 toys for needy children during Christmas season. In 1948, the Marine Corps Reserve adopted and expanded the program nationally. The program distributes nearly 15 million toys annually. Registration for the Toys for Tots program requires an individual, family or nonprofit organization to submit a "Request for Toys." To do this, visit the Toys for Tots website and follow specific instructions for your locality.

      Visit the Toys for Tots website and click on the "Request Toys" link.

      Click on the drop-down menu that loads and select "Pennsylvania" as your state.

      Click on the next drop-down menu and scroll until you find your county or city. Click on the appropriate location and then click "OK" to go to your local website.

      Select the link "Request Toys" on the local site. A page will load with contact information and instructions for your local site. Registration instructions will vary among local offices. Some local sites will allow you to make a request online with a "Toy Request Form." Look in the right-hand menu and see whether your find a "Toy Request Form" link. If so, you may continue with the remaining steps.

      Look at the menu on the right-hand side of your screen and click on the link for "Toy Request Form."

      Fill out the form that loads on the screen. You will need to fill out the entire form so that Toys For Tots can record your registration accurately and fulfill your request adequately. Remember, the goal of Toys for Tots is to provide two toys for each child and will fulfill the request based on the toys on hand at the time of the request.
