How to Change the IP in Windows Vista
Each computer on a network has an assigned IP address that allows other computers and network connections to identify the computer. Usually, a computer is assigned an IP automatically when the computer turns on and connects to a network. There may, however, be times when you want to assign a computer a static IP that never changes, for the use of applications or port forwarding. In this case, you can change your IP address on your Windows Vista computer by altering the network TCP/IP configuration.
