How to Look Up Inmates in Miami County Jails

Many U.S. prison systems have online inmate locator tools that allow users to look up the status of a particular inmate. Florida's Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation Department offers just such a service. To find inmates in other jurisdictions named Miami County, you'll have to rely on offline tools (see Step 4).

Instructions

1. Visit the "In-Custody Inmate Information" page on the Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation Department website (see Resources).

2. Enter the inmate's first and last name in the appropriate fields, and click "Submit" to call up the inmate's online profile and information.

3. Contact the Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation Department directly if you can't locate the inmate using the online system, or you need additional information.

4. Contact the prison systems in other jurisdictions named Miami County if you believe the inmate you're looking for is in one of these counties. These prison systems do not have online inmate locators as of October 2010, so you'll have to contact them directly.
