How to Change How Many Times Your BlackBerry Rings

If you feel like you can never fish your phone out of your purse in time, or your can't get to your phone quickly enough before it goes to voicemail, the problem may be your ringing time. Your BlackBerry phone has been seen set by default by your service provider to ring a specific amount of times. If the ringing time seems to be too short for you, you can send your service a provider a message through your phone to have the time extended.

Instructions

1. Press the "Star" key on your phone, then type "61."

2. Press the "Star" key again, followed by your phone number, including 1 and your area code.

3. Press the "Star" key twice after your phone number.

4. Type in the number that you'd like to extend your ringing time to in seconds. Choose from 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 seconds.

5. Press the "Pound" key after the seconds to complete the message.

6. Press "Send" to send the ringing time request message.
