How to Find & Delete Embedded Sound From a Powerpoint
PowerPoint allows you to either embed sounds within a presentation or link to sound file from the presentation. A sound icon -- which looks like a loudspeaker with sound lines coming out of it -- tells you that a sound has been linked or embedded in the slide. You can easily determine if it's an embedded sound, and then delete that sound.
Instructions

1
Open the PowerPoint presentation. Find the slide you would like to test for embedded sound. Ensure that you are in the "Normal" view by checking under the "File" menu. If you are not, click the "Normal View" button.
-
2
Click the sound icon. If you cannot see a sound icon, there are no embedded or linked sounds in the slide. Choose the "Options" tab under "Sound Tools." Click "Dialog Box Launcher" from the "Sound Options" group. Choose "Information." If the sound is embedded, the information box will say "[Contained in Presentation]."

3
Delete the embedded sound by closing all the windows except for the main presentation windows. Choose the slide with the embedded sound you would like to delete and click the sound icon. Press "Delete." Repeat this process for each sound you wish to delete; you cannot delete multiple sounds simultaneously.
