How to Connect a Standard TV Cable to a Yamaha Rxv465bl 5.1

Directly connect your cable television to a surround sound system.

A standard cable television typically has an RCA audio connection. This is made up of red and white RCA audio cables that send out a stereo signal. If you want to hook up the cable television to a surround sound receiver, it is possible to do so with the Yamaha RXV465bl 5.1 system. As you are only connecting two different cables, the overall connection method only takes a few minutes to complete.

• RCA audio/video cables

Instructions

1. Plug the RCA audio cables into the "Audio Out" ports on the cable television system.

2. Insert the other end of the RCA audio cables into the "Audio In" ports on the Yamaha Rxv465bl 5.1 surround sound receiver. Take note of the RCA audio input connection you are using (it is printed directly next on the rear of the receiver).

3. Power on the television and the Yamaha surround sound receiver.

4. Select the RCA audio input you are using. The audio from the television now plays through the Yamaha speaker system.
