How to Make Crepe Roses
You can turn excess crepe paper into a creative art project by creating crepe roses. These roses can be used in a bouquet, as a decoration or just simply for fun. Making these roses does take some practice, but will be easy to make once you figure out what works for you.
Instructions

-
1
Cut crepe paper to into 24-inch strips.
-
2
Take one piece of the crepe paper and crumple it in your hand. This will make the rose look more realistic.
-
-
3
Roll the crepe paper from one end. Begin by rolling tightly and then as you go further along the crepe paper, make the rolls more loose. Hold onto the tight beginning of the rose and use this as a stem. Roll the rest of the paper above this stem.
-
4
Place glue on the crepe paper every four to five turns to hold it in place. Put glue towards the bottom part of the crepe paper that's forming the rose.
-
5
Roll the crepe paper and twist the paper at the same time. Twist the paper loosely and often, continuing to wrap around the base of the rose. Fold the flat piece of paper over itself to achieve this twisting motion.
-
6
Glue the end of the paper onto the outside of the finished rose.
-
7
Let the glue dry before moving further with the rose.
-
8
Insert a green wire into the bottom of the rose. Insert it through the bottom "stem" of the rose. Cut out an 'X' shape out of green crepe paper and poke a hole in the center. Insert this center up the wire to the bottom of the rose. These are its leaves.
-
9
Take green crepe paper and place it at the top of the wire, directly under the leaves. Place a drop of glue onto the paper and roll the green crepe paper tightly around the wire. Continue down the wire and glue as necessary.
