Install a GPS Update in a Honda

GPS navigation devices can be installed on many models of Honda vehicles. These navigation devices assist drivers with turn-by-turn directions and provide a points-of-interest database, which includes locations such as parks, restaurants, gas stations and hotels. Map updates for Honda navigation devices allow drivers to view the most current information about streets and highways. These updates must first be purchased on DVD from the Honda navigation store, then installed on the navigation device.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to Honda Navigation Center website (See References) and select your vehicle's model and year from the menus on the left. The latest update is shown.

    • 2

Click "Add to Cart," then "Checkout." Enter a shipping address and payment information to complete the order, and the update is shipped via DVD.

    • 3

Start the Honda vehicle, and turn on the GPS. Press the "Eject" button to remove the original DVD from the unit. Insert the new DVD. When the DVD loads, the new maps are ready to use.

Tips & Warnings

  • As of October 2010, updates are priced at $185 each.
