Erase unreceived texts to prevent them from being sent later.

Text messaging has become one of the most popular and fastest ways of communication. You can now send audio, video and pictures via text. Verizon Wireless offers a range of messaging options, along with a variety of different phones with texting options. If you are in a place with little or no satellite service when sending a text using a Verizon phone, it will attempt to send it again when you have better service. If you would rather cancel a text that was not received, it's easy to erase.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the appropriate key(s) to unlock your Verizon phone, then press the "Message" button.

    • 2

Scroll to "Sent" and press "OK." This lists all of your recently sent messages and their status. Any unsent or unreceived messages have a red "x" to the left.

    • 3

Highlight the text you want to cancel using the navigation keys and press "Options." Highlight "Erase" and press "OK." That message will no longer be sent when you are in better service range.
