One way to help is to donate clothing and household items you no longer use that are in good shape. Making a donation is as simple as locating a Salvation Army donation box and dropping off your items.

Instructions

1. Call the Salvation Army donation center at 1-800-728-7825 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              1-800-728-7825      end_of_the_skype_highlighting. Listen and enter your ZIP code when prompted by the automated system.

2. Listen as the automated system repeats the ZIP code you entered. Confirm that you have entered the correct ZIP code by pressing 1 when prompted. If incorrect, press 2 to re-enter the information.

3. Press 0 once to speak with an operator. Hold as you are connected to an operator.

4. Inform the operator that you would like to locate the nearest donation box. Provide your ZIP code. Listen as the operator lists the locations of drop boxes in your area. Ask for the full address when you hear one closest to you.

• If you want a donation receipt to use for tax purposes, make your donation at a Salvation Army donation facility rather than at a drop box.
