How to Change the Furnace Filter on a Flame Master

If your Flame Master furnace is still sporting that old filter from last season, you need to seriously think about replacing it. As furnace filters become dirty, airflow is reduced. This reduced airflow puts added stress on the internal components of the furnace -- with the blower motor taking the biggest hit. Eventually, it may overheat and fail due to the lack of airflow. Ideally, you will want to replace your Flame Master furnace filter every 90 days. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Shut down power to the furnace. Turn your thermostat to the "Off" position and turn the power switch off at the furnace.

    • 2

Locate the filter rack on the furnace. It will most likely be located at the side of the furnace in the return air duct.

    • 3

Remove the filter rack guard, if applicable. It will just pull out of the filter rack and expose the side of the filter.

    • 4

Grab on to the filter and pull it straight out of the filter rack. Note the numerical sizing listed on it. This is your replacement size.

    • 5

Slide the new filter into the filter rack. Orient the arrow so that it points toward your furnace.

    • 6

Place the filter rack guard back into place, if applicable. Restore power to your furnace and enjoy full efficiency once again.
