Instructions for a Greenlee 93-172 Digital Light Meter

The Greenlee 93-172 Digital Light Meter is an instrument designed to measure light output from fluorescent, metal halide, high-pressure sodium and incandescent light sources. It can measure up to 50,000 lux and is accurate to within 4 to 7 percent. Operation of the instrument is fairly simple and straightforward. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

      Plug the sensor into the sensor jack. The sensor jack is located on the top of the unit.

      Press the power button located in the middle-left of the unit's face. The button is marked with a vertical line surrounded by a circle.

      Press the "Lux/Fc" button on the bottom right of the unit's face to select either lux or footcandles measurement.

      Press the "R," or range button, on the bottom left of the unit's face to select the measurement range.

      Place the sensor in front of the light source and remove the cover. The display should provide the measurement reading.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the display reads "OL," switch to the next higher range.

  • If the display reads "x 10," multiply the reading by 10 for the actual measurement. Similarly, if the display reads "x 100," multiply the reading by 100.

  • Keep the sensor clean and dry to ensure accurate measurements.
