How to Increase the Water Level in a Toilet
Low water levels in the bowls of toilets cause distress for many people. Some folks may want to increase the water level to ease in the cleaning of water lines; others may simply prefer a higher water level in their toilet. Occasionally, mechanical problems may lower the water level in a toilet bowl. To avoid the hefty parts and labor fees associated with plumbers, homeowners can adjust the ball float in the tank to increase the water level in a toilet. Does this Spark an idea?

Remove the porcelain lid from the top of the toilet's tank.

Locate the arm that connects the floating rubber ball to a plastic tube assembly.

Locate the small screw that connects the arm to the plastic structure.

Turn the screw counterclockwise. This will raise the level of the ball float in the tank.

Allow the water level in the toilet to increase. After seeing the new fill line, make any desired adjustments to the ball float's level.

Replace the porcelain lid on the toilet.

Tips & Warnings
Bending the arm that connects the ball float to the plastic tube assembly is another, less suggested, option. Bend the arm upwards.
Do not raise the level of the ball float past the opening of the overflow tube in the tank. The toilet will continuously fill if this is done.
