How to Migrate From Vuze to UTorrent
As Vuze has slowly devolved into bloatware, many torrent users have chosen to switch to an alternative client with a lighter resource and system footprint than Vuze. One of those popular clients is µTorrent. However, the one thing holding many users back, is the thought of migrating hundreds of torrent files to a new client. The process can be messy since a torrent file is nothing more than a name card pointing to the actual data and, if it can no longer find the data properly, the torrent client will redownload the data, making duplicates.

Create a directory on your system called "Watch" or "Autoload." This will be the directory where you gather all your old torrents into so that µTorrent can automatically queue them.

Create another directory called "Torrents" that will hold the finished torrent files once they have been queue and downloaded from the "Watch" or "Autoload" folder.

Click the "Options" button from the µTorrent menu bar and open the "Preferences" dialog. Click "Downloads" and tick the "Put new downloads in:" option. Type in the directory path that points to where you keep your currently downloaded torrents.

Click "Others" and under "Storage" tick the "Move .torrents for finished jobs to: " option and point the following path to the "Torrents" directory you created.

Tick the "Automatically load torrents in directory: " option and point the path to the "Watch" or "Autoload" directory you created.

Copy and paste all your old torrent files into the "Watch" or "Autoload" directory and µTorrent will automatically load them. Check the downloads folder for their existence and then queue them up to seed after it has been confirmed that they are fully downloaded and saved.
