How to Clean a Prefinished Kempas Wood Floor
Kempas is a type of prefinished wood flooring. It is a durable and hard wood flooring option that is naturally resistant to decay. Just like any other type of flooring, kempas prefinished wood floors must be cleaned. Dirt, sand and other debris will accumulate on the floor and can lead to scratches or dents. Things You'll Need
- Soft broom or vacuum cleaner
- Bucket
- Mild dishwashing soap
- Sponge mop
- Soft cloth

Sweep the floor thoroughly to remove loose dirt, dust and debris. Use a soft broom or vacuum cleaner with a hard floor setting and rubber wheels.

Fill a bucket with warm water. Add 2 to 3 drops of mild dishwashing soap. Avoid using too much soap or you risk damaging the finish.

Dip a sponge mop into the bucket and wring it out well. Make sure to get as much water off of the mop as possible. It is important to only damp mop the floor rather than wet mopping it.

Mop the entire floor thoroughly, rinsing and wringing out the mop often. Buff the floor with a soft, dry cloth promptly after damp mopping.

Tips & Warnings
If the floor is not very dirty, use a mop dampened with just plain water. Damp mopping your prefinished kempas wood floor should be done minimally. For routine cleaning, sweeping and dust mopping is sufficient.
Check with the manufacturer of your prefinished kempas wood flooring for additional products that are acceptable for cleaning the floor. Some manufacturers sell specific products approved for cleaning their flooring.
