How to Replace the Battery in a Car Alarm Remote

Most car alarm remotes have small, coin-style batteries inside of them. Each remote also contains a small circuit board that includes a transmitter antenna. These remotes are generally made from two separate plastic pieces, sandwiched together to form one unit. A small relief cutout designed to aid in separating these pieces is normally located on the edge of the remote. This area allows the remote to be pried apart with a coin or flathead screwdriver.
