How to Play Videos on the Nintendo DS Lite
Nintendo DS lites are handy games consoles. They are small enough to carry round and come with a wide selection of games for users of all ages. Unlike Sony and the PSP, Nintendo hasn't released movies for the DS console yet. However, there is still software you can use to enable your console to play video files from your computer. You will need a flash card to do so, such as a Supercard, M3 or microSD.

1
Get the latest version of Moonshell. You can either download it from the developer's website or purchase it as part of a bundle with the R4 DS slot cartridge. If you are downloading the software from the web, you will also need to download the DPG tools.
-
2
Unzip and run Moonshell if you have downloaded it from the web. Once you have run the set-up, you can choose three different files depending on the flash card you have. Copy the files from your computer to the flash card.

3
Insert the flash card or R4 cartridge into the machine and turn it on. If you have downloaded Moonshell from the website, you will see information on the top screen, before a graphic display appears on both screens. Once you have checked that the software works properly, turn the DS off.
-
4
Download a DPG encoder or use the DPG tools you downloaded with Moonshell. This will convert your videos into the correct format as Moonshell does not play AVI, WMV or MPG files.
-
5
Follow the software's instructions and convert your videos to DPG. Copy the files onto your flashcard and put the card back into the machine.
-
6
Restart your Nintendo DS lite, load the Moonshell software and select the video you want to play from the flash card using the menu.
