How to Build Your Own Wireless Booster
Having a wireless network can be a wonderful thing. It creates freedom for the mobile user as well as the liberty to utilize multiple peripherals. Sometimes, however, poor signal strength can be detrimental to productivity, limiting the performance of your device. By creating a wireless booster you will gain more signal from the wireless router you are connected to, eliminating the need to pack up your gear and move closer to the source.
Things You'll Need
- USB wireless network card
- Snips
- Round metal strainer
- USB extension cord
- Computer

1
Cut a hole in the strainer using the snips, making sure it is about the size of the USB extension cord, preferably a little smaller to make it a snug fit.
-
2
Press the end of the USB extension cord through the freshly cut hole in the strainer so that just the end is sticking through. Please note that you are sticking it through from the outside of the strainer (rounded part) and ending up in the inside of the bowl.

3
Plug the USB wireless network card into the USB extension cord. Plug the other end of the USB extension cord into your computer.
-
