The DMC-FZ7's "P" mode provides high-quality images with minimum input from the photographer.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 digital camera has a 6-megapixel sensor, 2.5-inch LCD screen, 800 x 1600 ISO speeds among a large selection of customizable shooting profiles and functions. This guide will take users through the recommended settings for getting to know the camera and start taking photos.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the camera and switch the mode dial (on the top right of the camera) to "P" mode. This setting will automatically correct the exposure level, shutter speed and aperture to deliver high-quality images without having to adjust settings yourself.

    • 2

Look through the viewfinder. Use the auto-focus box (in the center of the view) to aim at the person or object on which you want to focus.

    • 3

Zoom in on a person or object by pushing the zoom lever toward "T" (the zoom lever is located on the top right, in front of the mode dial). Zoom back out by pushing the lever toward "W."

    • 4

Press the shutter button halfway to automatically set the exposure, shutter speed and aperture. The camera will beep when ready. Press the shutter all the way to take the photo.

    • 5

Press the down-arrow button or the playback button (looks like an arrow pointing right inside a box) to view the last saved photo. Press the right and left arrow buttons to cycle through the library of images saved on the memory card.

    • 6

Push the zoom lever toward "T" to zoom in on the selected image. Use the arrow buttons to move around the image. Press the zoom lever toward "W" to zoom back out.

    • 7

Press the delete button (the image of a small trash can) to delete an image from the memory card. Press the up arrow to select "Yes" and press the "Menu/Set" button to confirm and delete the image.
