How to Convert FLV to MOV Open Source

FLV (Flash Video) is a common video format used on popular file-sharing websites, such as YouTube and DailyMotion. While FLV is widespread, it lacks compatibility with commonly used digital media players, such as Quicktime. Users can convert their FLV into MOV format for better compatibility with digital media players using an opensource video conversion application.

Instructions

AVVConvert

1. Download AVVConvert from SourceForge (see Resources).

2. Open AVVConvert.

3. Click "Browse." Select the FLV that you want to convert and click "Open."

4. Click on the output format drop-down menu and select ".flv."

5. Click "Convert Video."

Akme FFMpeg

1. Download and install Akme FFMpeg from SourceForge (see Resources).

2. Open Akme FFMpeg.

3. Click "Browse...." Select the FLV that you want to convert and click "Open."

4. Click on the output file format drop-down menu. Select "FLV -- FLASH VIDEO."

5. Click "Encode."
