Tips & Warnings
If you have a Gmail account, your Google account sign in and your Gmail account sign in are the same thing. However, if you use another email provider's username as your Google account's login, you don't have access to a Gmail account. Your Motorola Droid will not synchronize with the contact information associated with the other email provider's account. For example, you can have a Google account whose username is yourname@yahoo.com. However, you won't have a Gmail account with that sign in, and so there are not contacts to synchronize. To remedy this, you have to sign up for a new Gmail (and thus Google) account not associated with that other provider's account.
