It is possible to convert a mini DV tape to a full sized VHS tape.

Many video cameras record the audio and video content onto a mini DV tape. This tape holds up to 60 minutes worth of footage in a digital format. If, however, you want to take the recorded content and play it for individuals with a VCR, it is possible to convert the recorded information onto an analog VHS tape.

Things You'll Need

  • 3.5mm to RCA audio/video cable adapter
  • VCR
  • VHS tape

Instructions

    • 1

      Plug the 3.5mm end of the cable into the "Video Out" port on the mini DV video camera.

      Plug the RCA audio/video ends of the cable into the "Video In" ports on the VCR.

      Insert the VHS tape into the VCR.

    • 4

      Press "Play" on the video camera, then push "Play" and "Record" on the VCR and the content of the mini DV tape will record directly onto the VHS tape.
