How to Elevate Spybot to Administrator

Run SpyBot as "Administrator" to full remove spyware from the hard drive.

When anti-spyware software such as Spybot is running, it needs to have full access to the system to be truly effective. Under Windows XP, the general practice was to have all user accounts running in "Administrator" mode. This was seen as a security flaw in Windows and was corrected in Windows Vista and 7. Now, a program must specifically request to run in "Administrator" mode and can no longer do this automatically.

Instructions

1. Left-click on the SpyBot icon to highlight it.

2. Right-click the highlighted SpyBot icon.

3. Left-click the option "Run as Administrator."

4. Click the "Yes" button in the screen that comes up asking for permission to run as an Administrator.

5. Operate SpyBot like normal. SpyBot now has Administrator-level access to the system and can find SpyWare hidden in system files and folders.
