How to Reinstall Windows XP on a Dell Format Dimension 4600

If your Dell Format Dimension 4600 has slowed down or is experiencing errors, then you may wish to reinstall Windows XP. When you reinstall Windows XP your operating system and your data will be completely wiped clean, and you will not be able to recover the lost data. Once reinstallation is complete your Dell Dimension will act as it did when you first bought it.

Instructions

1. Insert the Windows XP installation disc into your computer, then restart.

2. Press a key when "press any key to boot from CD" appears.

3. Press "Enter" to begin the Windows XP setup, then press "Enter" again. Press "F8" to agree to the license agreement.

4. Press "R" to reinstall then follow the onscreen setup instructions. You will be requested to enter your serial number. This can be found on a sticker on the side of your Dell Format Dimension 4600 computer.

5. Click "Restart" when the computer has finished reinstalling Windows XP. Once your computer boots up you will be able to use your computer as if it was brand new.
