A Tanita jewelry digital scale can display weights in gram, ounce, carat, troy, penny or grain measurements. Calibrating a scale ensures the scale is weighing and measuring correctly and the weight displayed on the screen is correct. A scale should be calibrated before its first use, as the scale can become unbalanced due to shipping. After the first use, you should calibrate the scale at least weekly.

Things You'll Need

• 200-gram weight

Instructions

1. Place the Tanita jewelry scale on a flat, even surface.

2. Turn on the scale.

3. Press the "CAL" button for three seconds.

4. Place the 200-gram calibration weight on the scale when the display screen flashes "CALlb."

5. Remove the weight from the scale when it displays "200.00g." If the scale displays "Err," repeat the calibration process.
