How to Get Strawberry Syrup out of a Car's Carpet

Strawberry syrup is a tasty treat when mixed in your milk or poured over ice cream, but is not so welcome when spilled all over your car's carpet. It's important to quickly get it out of the carpet once it spills, as the red color can easily stain, and the stickiness of can become messy if left too long.

      Remove as much of the excess strawberry syrup as possible from the car carpet using a rag.

      Heat some water in a bowl until it is heated through but not boiling.

      Add regular vinegar to the heated water so the mixture is two parts water to one part vinegar.

      Pour the vinegar mixture over the stain so the syrup is completely covered. Let it sit for two minutes.

      Dab at the syrup with a rag to remove excess syrup. Rub the syrup out of the carpet using the vinegar mixture as a detergent. Add more mixture as needed if the carpet begins to dry. Continue until all traces of the syrup are gone.

      Pour deoderizing carpet powder over the spot once it dries to cut out the odor of the vinegar.

  • Change rags if the one you're using becomes too coated in strawberry syrup.
