How to Fix a Scratch on a Laminate Wood Floor

Laminate wood floor has gained a reputation for durability, and can withstand the wear and tear of pet and human traffic much easier than other flooring materials. However, it is still possible to scratch a laminate floor. If you've already found that out the hard way, you will be pleased to learn there is a basic repair procedure to fix a scratch on a laminate wood floor. Within an hour, your repair will be complete and your laminate floor will again appear flawless.

Things You'll Need

• Laminate floor cleaner
• Laminate floor touch-up stick of matching color
• Lint-free cloth

Instructions

1. Sweep or vacuum the area of where the scratch is located.

2. Clean the scratched area, using a manufacturer-recommended laminate cleaner.

3. Fill in the scratch, using a laminate touch-up stick of matching color. Rub the stick gently onto the scratch in a back-and-forth motion until the scratch is filled.

4. Buff the filled area with a lint-free cloth until all excess filler is gone. Your scratched floor is now repaired, and the scratch is no longer visible.
