How to Arrange Life Insurance Online
Buying life insurance usually takes place through real interaction between two people. However, you now can purchase life insurance online. Some companies will issue an insurance binder, or proof of insurance, immediately after you go through the underwriting process online. Buying life insurance in this way means that you do not have to meet with a high-pressure salesperson and that you can purchase life insurance when it's convenient for you.

1
Look for life insurance brokers online. Many life insurance brokers and companies that sell life insurance online, like NetCoverage and ANICO Direct (see the Resources section), maintain a website with a quoting engine. A quoting engine is software that runs life insurance quotes, with some from multiple companies. This allows you to visit a handful of websites and receive a sufficient number of quotes to make your decision.

Check with the Better Business Bureau and your state's department of insurance (see the Resources section) to make sure that the company you choose is reputable.

Fill out the form online. You must complete the online application for the insurance company that you have chosen to purchase from. Make sure that you fill out all of your personal information, such as your name, address and Social Security number. You'll also be asked about your health. You'll need to disclose any health problems to the broker and to the insurance company.

Submit the application online and send payment. Many companies accept payment over the Internet. Once you make the payment, the website will allow you to print out an insurance binder. The binder is your proof of insurance. If your policy is a guaranteed issue (no exam required), it will arrive in the mail. If your policy requires a medical exam, you'll receive a phone call to schedule an appointment.
