Those who use Firefox or Internet Explorer can improve their Web browser's search capability by installing the Google toolbar, which includes the Google Search bar. If you find that the Google search bar is taking up too much space or you do not want it on your screen for some other reason, you can hide the Google toolbar and accompanying search bar without needing to completely uninstall the toolbar.

Internet Explorer

  1. Right-click anywhere on the menu bar. A drop-down list of toolbars appears.

  2. Locate "Google Toolbar" in the list.

  3. Click "Google Toolbar" to deselect it. The search bar is now hidden.

Firefox

  1. Right-click anywhere on the menu bar.

  2. Locate "Google Toolbar."

  3. Click "Google Toolbar" to deselect it. The Google search bar is now hidden.
