How to Reset the Blackberry 8330

There are various reasons for wanting to reset your Blackberry Curve 8330. It may be freezing up, be working improperly or you may be planning to transfer it to a new owner. Fortunately, resetting the Blackberry 8330 is as simple as removing and reinserting the battery. A few short and simple steps will help you accomplish this task.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove any third-party covers and cases you have on your device.

    • 2

Turn the device over so the back is facing you and the front with the keyboard is face down.

    • 3

Depress the silver button located near the bottom of the device and use your other hand to slide the back panel up toward the top of the device. Lift up the back cover by holding it where it is hanging over the top of the device and pull it toward you.

    • 4

Insert a fingernail between the top of the battery and the battery compartment and in an upward motion, pop the battery out toward you.

    • 5

Pull the battery from the device and reinsert it by sliding the bottom of the battery into the battery compartment then pushing on the top of the battery until it snaps securely into place.

    • 6

Reinstall the back cover using motions opposite of what you used to remove the cover.

    • 7

Turn the device over and wait for it to start up; if it does not turn on automatically, hold down the button with the red phone icon until the device turns on.
