How to Open an Eagle Ultra II Fishfinder

How to Open an Eagle Ultra II Fishfinder thumbnail
The Eagle fish finders provide water depth, temperature and fish information.

Eagle Sonar produces a series of fish finders and GPS-equipped depth finders. The Ultra II is an older model that uses sonar waves to beam information about the water depths and where the fish are to a grey screen display unit. To get to the Ultra II, you have to open the packaging first. If you want to see the inner workings of the Ultra II, you need to crack the display unit apart.

Instructions

    • 1

Slice through the circle-shaped tape closure on the upper top of the Ultra II box. Push the top of the box open and reach in and remove the Styrofoam enclosures holding the Ultra II in the box.

    • 2

Unscrew the four retaining screws found in the corners on the back on the display screen unit. Put the screws in the cup or bucket so as not to lose them.

    • 3

Pull the back off the display unit. There are rubber gaskets holding the unit together as well as the screws, and they will have a slight suction to them when pulling the back off.
