How to Block Sites in ISA

Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA) is a service run on a Windows network that controls website access and permissions for your users. One option you have in ISA is the ability to block websites, so users are not able to view unauthorized Web pages. This is typically done to block porn, gambling and other inappropriate websites. You can set up blocked websites in the main ISA configuration console.

Instructions

1. Click the Windows "Start" button on the computer that has ISA installed. Select "All Programs," then click "Microsoft ISA Server" and click "ISA Management" to open your main console.

2. Double click "Servers and Arrays" to expand a list of options. Click your ISA server's name to expand a second set of options. Click "Policy Elements."

3. Right click "Destination Sets" in the list of options and select "New." In the list of options, click "Set." This opens a new configuration screen.

4. Type the website's domain name or the IP address in the configuration window's "Path" text box. Click "Deny" and then click "OK." This blocks the specified website for your network users.
