How to Correct a Shiny Forehead in Photoshop
No matter how much preparation you do for a photo, something about your model or group portrait may not go as planned. While you could reassemble your subjects, that could take time and effort. Instead, correct simple flaws such as shiny forehead skin by taking the photos into Adobe Photoshop. With a few clicks of Photoshop's graphic software tools, you're able to give someone a digital powdering without any makeup or blotting towels required.

1
Open Photoshop, select the "File" menu and click "Open." Browse to the picture with a shiny forehead and double-click the file name. The image opens in the Photoshop workspace.
-
2
Click the "Lasso" tool on the "Tools" palette on the left side of the screen. Draw an outline around just the shine on the forehead. When blinking dotted lines appear, right-click them and select "Layer via Copy."
-
-
3
Click the "Window" menu and select "Layers." The "Layers" palette opens, showing two layers: a Background layer with your original picture and a Layer 1, with the forehead area.
-
4
Click the "Image" menu, click "Adjustments" and select "Vibrance." Drag the small "Vibrance" window so you can see both the window and the person's forehead.
-
5
Move both the "Vibrance" and "Saturation" slider bars to the left or right, watching as the forehead area changes color. Depending on the person's skin color and tone, this may require very little change or more significant sliding.
-
6
Write down the two numbers in the "Vibrance" box if you are going to adjust any other shiny spots on the person's face. This will ensure you use the same numbers each time, instead of sliding the bars.
-
7
Click the "OK" button to close the "Vibrance" window. Click the small lined icon at the top right of the "Layers" palette and select "Flatten Image."
-
8
Click the "File" menu, click "Save As," type a new name for the picture and save it to the computer.
