How to Locate Property Values in Arizona

How to Locate Property Values in Arizona thumbnail
In Arizona, property value information is open to the public.

In the state of Arizona, the property appraiser's office in each of Arizona's 16 counties is responsible for assessing, maintaining and annually updating the property value of every parcel of property in the county. The property values of each county's home, office or commercial property is public information. To find any individual property, you must first determine the address of the property, which will bring you all of the information you need for buying or selling a home or paying taxes on an owned parcel of property.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine the property's address. For a complete directory of properties in your area by street, cross street, city or ZIP code, visit the United States Post Office website's "ZIP code lookup" (see Resources). Keep in mind that you must know the city to search for a property's individual street address.

    • 2

Find out which Arizona county the property is in. Visit the Arizona Department of Revenue website's (see Resources) and click on "county website locator" for a listing of counties by city, as well as a direct link to each of the county government's websites.

    • 3

Visit the county's government website for a link to the county's property appraiser office website. Each of Arizona's 16 counties provides an external link to this county-level departmental office.

    • 4

Contact your county property appraiser by e-mail, phone, fax or in person to inquire about an individual property's value by the property's address. Most of Arizona's county property appraiser websites offer an online search directory by address.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some property appraiser offices in Arizona may be referred to as assessors offices. Property appraisers assess the value of each property in the county for tax collection purposes but do not collect the actual property taxes. To contact your county's tax collector, visit the county tax collector's website, which is also available from the main county's website. To dispute the property value, contact the county's property appraiser for an appeal form.
