Bissell's ProHeat floor cleaner is a deep cleaner that sprays the floor with cleaning solution and water and then brushes it into the floor before sucking up the dirty solution and water. You can use the ProHeat to clean hard surfaces, as well as carpets.

Instructions

  1. Replacing the Belts

    • 1

      Unplug the machine and let it cool down completely. Remove the tank by lifting the handle to unlock it from the machine. Set the tank aside.

      Step on the handle-release bar and lower the handle to the ground. The handle-release bar is located on the bottom of the machine.

      Turn the ProHeat on its side so you can access the bottom of the machine.

      Insert a flat-head screwdriver into the tabs on the belt-access door to carefully pry it open. Set the door aside.

      Remove the red retainer plate by unscrewing the screws with a Phillips head screwdriver. Remove the black brush arm.

      Remove the broken belts. There are two belts inside the belt-access door. The larger belt is the toothed brush belt and is attached to the brush. The smaller belt is the pump belt that is attached to the red pump pulley and the silver motor shaft.

      Replace the pump belt by wrapping one end around the red pump pulley and the other end around the silver motor shaft. Replace the brush belt by wrapping one end around the red pump pulley and the other end around the toothed side of the brush bar.

      Replace the black brush arm and the red retainer plate. Snap the brush-access door back into place. Replace the tank by putting it in the machine and lowering the handle to lock it into place.

    Clearing Filter Clogs

      Remove clogs from the flow indicator filter by unscrewing the flow indicator cap. The flow indicator cap is located on the top of the foot of the machine.

      Remove the cap, rotor and filter from the machine and rinse them off with clear water.

    • 11

      Replace the filter, rotor and cap in that order. Screw the cap on tightly.
