How to Make Download Speeds Faster on a Mac

Although the leap from dial-up Internet access to broadband provides an amazing speed boost, at some point even broadband users can get impatient with their connection speed; it's particularly likely when downloading a large file or streaming a high-def movie. There are utilities you can install, both free and for-pay, but you can try a relatively simple system tweak instead. This quick tweak enables your Mac to download files from the Internet faster by increasing the receive buffer size. Additionally, you’ll notice that your browser loads Web pages faster. You will have to refresh this process after each reboot.
