How to Chat With Twitter
Twitter is a public social networking site used for business and leisure. The website allows you to communicate with other users using messages (known as Tweets) of 140 characters or less. Applications allow you to Tweet on the go, or you can use the website. When using Twitter, the only way to chat directly with a person is to direct messages at people with an @ reply or direct message.

Choose "@ mention..." and the user name will appear in your tweet box on the main screen. Type the rest of your 140 character or less message (which include the @ and user name). You can also chat with a person by simply typing "@" plus the user name in the tweet box. Click "Send" when complete. The person will reply back and to keep the conversation going, scroll over the tweet and click "Reply." This will add the "@" symbol plus the user name to the tweet box.
